Priority Mail....

When you are getting a package ready and you weigh it and you were planning on sending it by parcel select and then you see that to send it by Priority mail only costs 5 cents more, do you do it? I've had that happen to me a couple of times lately and I figure it's only a little bit more....might as well get it there faster and make the customer happy! What do you do?

I had 2 sales today. No fortune made today!

Homer Laughlin Gravy Boat - Paid $1.00 - Sold for $7.50
Profit after fees and shipping - $3.96

Winnie the Pooh FTD Planter
Paid 25 cents - Sold for $8.00
Profit after fees and shipping - $5.92

Well, that about sums it up! I'm off to bed. Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

  1. Yes I do get the priority mail if it only a tiny amount more. Especially since they now give you the insurance with priority up to $50. I also put a message to the buyer telling them I upgraded to priority, I feel like that may make them happy.

  3. I upgrade as well. For that extra nickel or so, I can use a free box. Plus, it gets the item to its location quicker, which makes the customer happy.

  5. Ditto. I always upgrade. Most of my listings are priority anyway because of the free insurance. And you can use a free box or envelope.I think the post office wants priority so that is why the prices are so close.

    1. My trouble is by the time I realize it might be cheaper or just as close I've already got my box all ready to go! So much for the free box! ~~Pam

  6. Ditto, ditto, ditto. I love being able to use the free boxes, it makes it look very professional, and I also mention to the customer that I upgraded so that it should arrive more quickly. Win/win/win! And, a good point about the included insurance - bonus!

  7. Ditto everything. I also email them letting them know to watch for it sooner and I almost always get a happy response. Occasionally if it an expensive item going international i will pay 5-10 dollars more for priority.
