Past Few Weeks Sales...in other words I'm Behind Again!

Thought I would try to play a little catch-up again! Seems to be the story of my life lately! Here's some of the highlights of what's sold since my last post.

Angry Beavers Shirt
Paid 66 cents - Sold for $12.50 - Profit $9.82

Baby Bop Plush
Had forever for my own kids - Sold for $9.95 to someone in Canada - Profit $10.07

Sold some vitamins my daughters boss gave to her. I love selling free to us stuff!

True Calm Vitamins
Sold for $19.95 w/fs - Profit $13.91

Cute little NIKE boys shoes. They were in really good shape and I only paid 2 bucks for them. I almost felt guilty selling them for $30 but I got positive feedback on them so I guess the buyer is happy and I'm happy!

Boys Nike Shox Shoes
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $30.00 - Profit $24.15

This next item was a fun little cross stitch and I only paid a quarter for it. For some reason I put free shipping on it....don't know if I meant to do that or if it was an error while listing but it definitely cut into my profit!

Miss my Mind Cross Stitch
Paid 25 cents - Sold for $9.95 w/fs - Profit - $4.85

Went to a yard sale in October that had a huge box of these EOS lip balms for 25 cents each. Apparently they had a store of some kind and couldn't sell these because they wouldn't close right or something. Anyway, I didn't know a whole lot about them but my daughter said I should get some to sell so I did. After some friends and family took what they wanted I really didn't have a whole lot left to sell but so far I've made $25 on the 3 sets I've sold and I have 2 more sets to sell! I should have bought them all and I probably should have sold them for more money.

7 EOS Lip Balms
Paid $1.75- Sold for $12.95 - Profit $9.45

I sold three different sets of VHS tapes this past couple of weeks!
The Lassie Collection
Paid $2.50 - Sold for $14.95 - Profit $10.10

The Astronomers
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $12.00 - Profit $8.56

Time Life Zoo Life
Paid $1.50 - Sold for $15.00 - Profit $10.59

I've been listing more jars on eBay instead of just my Etsy shop. I've sold a few too!

2 Square Blue Ball Perfect Mason Quart Jars
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $22.50 - Profit $18.64

Root Mason Jar
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $10.95 - Profit $11.57

Ball Perfect Mason Pint Jar with Square Lettering
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $17.95 - Profit $15.56

10 Blue Ball Quart Jars
Paid $10.00 - Sold for $60.00 - Profit $36.45

And you really can sell anything on eBay! My husband and I both had heart procedures done a couple of years ago and I had these hospital socks on hand that we hardly wore and I thought, "why not?" so I listed them! Made a little bit on them and better than them sitting in my sock drawer gather dust!

4 Pair Acti-Tred Hospital Socks
"Free" - HA! - Sold for $7.95 - Profit $6.62

My husband cleaned out a house for a landlord friend of ours and found 2 of these antique wood bow saws. I sold them both on Facebook for 20 bucks each. I had looked them up on eBay and they were going for around $35 but I figured they would be hard to mail out and this was so much easier!

Well, those are the highlights from the past few weeks. Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

Last 7 Days Sales

Just thought I'd stop by and show what's sold this past week. The first few things were on eBay, the jar and buttons on Etsy.

I had this first big guy stick around for awhile. He was 30 inches tall and I started him at a higher price and just gradually kept lowering it. Still not too bad of a profit.

BIG Green Plush Frog
Paid $3.38 - Sold for $16.50 - Profit $14.85

I found this old hair dryer over a year ago at a yard sale for $1.00. I started it higher too but it just wouldn't sell for forever! Finally did this past week.

Vintage Oster Hair Dryer
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $29.95 - Profit $21.95

I had started this cooler out at a higher price also. I think I sold one of these before but I couldn't find my information on it! Anyway, "Dude" from Money in the Garage talks about selling Coleman coolers. I think I sold a green one last year. I had started this one at I think $75....been so long I can't remember! I gradually kept lowering it. I had it at $45 and got an offer of $30 the other day. Since it is winter and since we needed the money and since I wanted it outta here I took the offer! Well, with the fees and cost of the cooler I ended up with less than 16 bucks profit. Didn't hardly seem worth it for the time and hassle it was to pack it up and ship it. I know I made good on the green one that I sold and this one should have been the same....just bad timing I guess with getting later in the season. The guy did tell me "thank you" for accepting his bid....said it matched his boat! He is from Mississippi so I guess it's warm enough down there to be in a boat this time of year!

Vintage Coleman Cooler
Paid $5.00 - Sold for $30.00 - Profit $15.92

A little funny story on these boots.....I was at Goodwill and saw them and I knew my 13 year old boy needed winter boots so I thought these looked really good for him! They were $8.88 so I picked them up and brought them home! He saw them and said, "These are women's boots! They've got fur around them!" I hadn't even thought about it! They looked like men's to me! Anyway, I sold them so I got the money back plus some!

Itasca Women's Boots
Paid $8.88 - Sold for $22.95 - Profit $11.46

I sold this Waldo doll last night. A pretty good return on my investment!

Where's Waldo 12 inch Doll
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $17.50 - Profit $14.00

My DownVintageLane shop on Etsy has been pretty slow the past several weeks. I'm wondering if the "jar" fad has already come and gone! This jar has the #13 on the bottom. They sell for a little more than the regular jars.

#13 Ball Quart Jar
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $15.00 - Profit $14.00

I have been selling some buttons here and there in my button shop lately. Sold these 2 sets to one person.

50 Red Vintage Buttons
Paid 25 cents - Sold for $3.50

50 Black Vintage Buttons
Paid 25 cents - Sold for $3.50 - Profit on both sets $6.17

So, that's it for the week. I'm hoping things pick up a lot really soon! I've got TONS of jars I'd like to sell! A few weeks ago I had someone call me and say that had at least 100 jars. It was 2 guys that ended up bringing them to me. I think they must trash out houses or something. They said these came from some old basement. When I advertise for jars saying I will pay $1.00 a piece for them, I say that I don't want any with chips or cracks but dirty ones are fine. I figure if people had to wash them up they wouldn't even bother and I figure I can wash them. Well, when I saw these jars I kept thinking that I should just tell them to take them back! These weren't just dirty, they weren't even just filthy, they were just plain hideous! A lot of them were still filled with old putrid food and worst of all the zinc lids were practically soldered on! I kept thinking I shouldn't take them.....way too much work....but they were unloading them and I just couldn't seem to tell them no! So, there were probably closer to 200 jars and neat old bottles and they said they'd take $150 so I gave it to them but I've practically regretted it ever since!

I had taken this picture of all of them after they left. It doesn't really show the magnitude because you can't see a lot of the jars that are in the boxes. It wouldn't have been so bad if we could just unscrew the lids and dump them but the lids just would - not - come - off! My hubby has come to the rescue though....he is using some kind of a torch to heat up the lids, or burn them or whatever and getting them off but it's been a slow process. He still has lots to do! Meanwhile, I probably have washed up at least 40 of them and even gotten some listed! I suppose it will be worth it in the end but we will definitely be earning our money on these!

Well, that's enough of that! Thanks so much for stopping by! ~~Pam

Lots of Stuff

Thought I would catch up on some of the things I've sold in the past few weeks since I last posted.

You should always save your used ink cartridges! I don't know how long I saved these....might have been close to a year. Seems like I really go through the ink though! I had 25 cartridges that were empty. They have never been refilled so they are called "virgin" ink cartridges. Apparently there are people who buy these up to refill them and then I'm assuming they resell them.

25 Virgin HP61 Ink Cartridges
Basically free - Sold for 69.95 - Profit $62.77

I think this is the 2nd set of used floppy discs that I've sold.

Lot of Floppy Discs
$2.00 - Sold for $19.95 - Profit $17.10

This next item was a new book about plants that still had the shrink wrap on it! It was 75 cents. It had a price tag on it of $69. I looked it up and figured I could get at least $50 and I did! Wish I could find more deals like that!

Paid 75 cents - Sold for $50.00 - Profit $42.32

On the shoe front - I can't wait till yard sales next year when I can look for shoes a lot more. I finally figured out that they are worth looking at!

Nike Shox Womens Shoes
Paid $3.00 - Sold for $24.95 - Profit $19.55

Nike Mens Black Cleats
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $25.00 - Profit $19.46

Toys - This plush tiger was only $3.00 - he measured 50 inches from head to end of tail!

Big Plush Tiger
Paid $3.00 - Sold for $27.50 - Profit $19.69

Well, I started this post a few days ago and was going to add more but I better just get it up before too many more days pass! Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

Too Busy!

I can't believe it's been 2 months since I've posted! Life is just crazy busy all of  the time! I seem to have trouble keeping up with anything anymore! I try to get things listed but it seems there are always distractions or other things that need done too. I guess that's just life! I will show you a few of the better sales that I've had the past couple of months!

I've been reading about others that are selling shoes ....especially shoes for older people, so I've started dabbling in them and I like it! I had these listed at $49.95 but took a best offer on them.

Amazonas Black Mary Janes
Paid $3.00 - Sold for $38.95 - Profit - 32.14

I saw these New Balance shoes at Goodwill for $12.38 and I debated and debated on getting them but since they were new with tags I figured I could at least make a little on them! As you can see, I did!

Mens New Balance Shoes
Paid $12.38 - Sold for $59.95 - Profit $36.45

This next pair wasn't quite as expensive of a brand but they were in really good shape so I bought them.

Womens Nine West Shoes
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $21.00 - Profit $17.43

Next up is an old afghan that I think my great aunt must have made. My mom gave it to me to try to sell and I did! The customer was really happy with it and said it looked even better in person!

Granny Square Afghan
Free - Sold for $35 - Profit $30.29

Bought this cassette case at Goodwill for $2.38. It holds tapes on both sides. I must have accidently put "Free Shipping" on this one....I hate when that happens! So, I didn't end up making a whole lot on it.

Double Cassette Tape Case
Paid $2.38 - Sold for $20.00 - Profit $5.89

I also read somewhere about longer denim dresses selling well so when I saw this one I picked it up. It still had tags on it!

Womens Blue Denim Dress
Paid $3.00 - Sold for $18.95 - Profit $12.00

I had read on Suzanne A Wells blog, or maybe it was one of her YouTube videos that I saw, that these jar openers are selling well because older people like to have them. This one was never used and still in the box!

Black & Decker Jar Opener
Paid $4.00 - Sold for $27.50 - Profit $26.30

And last but not least, my mom and sister were going through some of my dad's things and found several tape cases holding these cassettes that he had taped book readings on quite a few years ago. They were just going to throw them away but I figured they might sell even with having been used. I put them all in one box of 187 tapes and sold them within a few weeks. (you really can sell about anything on eBay!)

187 Cassette Tapes
Free - Sold for $19.95 - Profit $16.64

Update on my old magazine sales......I've made $494.32 profit so far! I finally got around to listing a few more last night...I still have lots that I need to get to though!

Well, that's about it for now! I'll try to update more often! Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

My Decision Was Made for Me

I wasn't sure whether or not I was going to go out to yard sales this morning but I woke up to thunder and pouring down rain so that kind of made my decision easy to make! It's good to have some rain except for my husband was hopefully going to finish mowing some lawns this morning so we could collect some money! But it really is good to have rain because it will hopefully keep the grass growing! The lawn-mowing business has slowed way down the past couple of weeks so we need the rain. Anyway, it's good for future business but not so good for today!

The view outside of our dining room window....doesn't look as rainy as it actually is.

I've had a few more sales the past couple of days. The next 3 are from my vintage shop and button shop.

39 Wooden Spools
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $9.95 - Profit $8.71

Got to hear the "ca-ching" sound a few times too! It's always exciting to hear it!

Vidal Sassoon Hot Rollers
Paid $4.38 - Sold for $25.95 - Profit $15.84

Hooked on Phonics Level 1
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $10.00 - Profit $6.18

National Sportsman Magazine
Paid 12 cents - Sold for $9.00 - Profit $7.73

Fur Fish Game Magazine
Paid 12 cents  - Sold for $6.00 w/fs - Profit $1.56

You really can sell anything on eBay! That old magazine with no cover still sold. Of course I didn't make much on it but every bit helps I guess! My total magazine profit so far is $428.21.

I didn't get to list anything new the past couple of days. My sister-in-law is here for a visit so things have been busy! Today I'm going to try to get some laundry and listing done! Tonight we have our little grandbaby staying with us. He's so precious! He's only 5 1/2 months old and is crawling all over the place already! I don't think any of our kids crawled that early!

Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

Wednesday Update

Hello! Just wanted to give a quick update since my last post. I listed 5 new items Monday and 5 new items yesterday. I am going to try really hard to do that the rest of the month. I'm probably not going to make my goal of 150 listings (have I ever?) but with 11 days left plus today that will give me about 90 listings for the month. Who knows...maybe I'll get some more motivation and do more than that! I can dream!

My sister found this adorable vintage pull toy at a yard sale for 50 cents! It's funny how some people want to just get rid of stuff and then there's others who think they are running an antique shop! This sounds like it was a good sale to go to! I sold it for $19.95. I just looked at the "sold" ones and one went for $15, and another for $9.99 so I guess I did pretty well!

Vintage Fisher Price Wooden Pull Toy
Free from my sister - Sold for $19.95 - Profit - $18.99

This thermos must have been from when my younger brother was little. My mom is cleaning out stuff and getting ready to move so she let me have this to sell.

Vintage "The Fall Guy" Thermos
Free from my Mom - Sold for $12.50 - Profit $10.48

I found this at a sale a couple of months ago for 50 cents. It's really heavy! It took awhile to sell but it went for $14.95!

Brass Piggy Bank Pig
Paid 50 cents - Sold for $14.95 - Profit $12.74

Well, I've got lots to do today! Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam
