Tuesday's Tally

I got these orders ready to ship out today! A few weeks ago I found this old sewing machine for $2.00! I figured I couldn't go wrong on that! Some of these sell for more towards a hundred dollars but this one is a bit worn...the design is worn off in places and such. I just wanted to sell it quickly as I don't have a lot of storage space. I'm happy with what I made and I only had it listed for a few days!

Singer Red Eye Sewing Machine
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $39.95 - Profit $31.74

I love these old wooden spools....maybe someday I will keep some for myself!

119 Wooden Spools
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $25.00 - Profit $21.60

Several months ago I found 2 Greg Norman golf shirts at Goodwill for $9.38 each....this was when I was first really trying to find stuff to sell on eBay....anyway, at the time I thought if Goodwill charges that much for them then they must be worth something! I bought them both! Yikes! I started them out high but they never sold. I've gradually lowered them over the months and this one  finally sold yesterday. I made a whopping 65 cents on it! At least I got my money back also! I might just change the other one to $15.00 and wait it out! And believe me...I won't pay that much for a shirt again...unless it's maybe  one of these that Meinard talks about!

Greg Norman Golf Shirt
Paid $9.38 - Sold for $12.00 - Profit - 65 cents!!!

Sales Update

Just a few sales this past week. I bought these 7 dwarfs squeaky toys a couple of months ago thinking they might really be worth something. Got home and checked them out and realized they probably weren't going to bring me much. I had paid $1.00 each for them...what was I thinking?!! They are cute though! I guess at least I made a few bucks on them.

Paid $7.00 - Sold for $21.00 w/fs - Profit $5.85

Found these 2 Coleman water jugs for just a quarter each!

2 Coleman Half Gallon Jugs w/Spouts

I bought these cute animal dominoes a couple of months ago and finally listed them a few days ago...they sold pretty quickly! Should have gotten them listed sooner!
Vintage Animal Dominoes

Wire Duck Basket
Paid 50 cents - Sold for $8.75 - Profit $7.47

I don't have very many jars left. My Etsy shop is slowing way down without them. I wonder if I should just start taking everything that expires on Etsy and list it on eBay? The jars sell for more on Etsy but if I don't have many jars what's the point? I'm selling lots more stuff on eBay and it would be nice to get my listing total up higher....I guess it's something to think about!

3 Clear Pint Jars
Paid $3.00 - Sold for $17.50 - Profit $12.00

Old Alphabet Stamp Set
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $6.95 - Profit $5.53

Look Magazine October 3, 1944
Paid 12 cents - Sold for $9.95 - Profit $7.56

I grouped this next set of magazines together because they were in a little bit of a rough shape and they were all from the same year. I sold them to someone in Germany! They originally paid about $37 in shipping but I must have weighed them wrong to begin with and they weren't as heavy as I had thought so I ended up refunding them a little over $10 on the shipping. Still... a lot of money to get these old magazines across the sea!

8 Issues of Hoard's Dairyman Magazine 1948
Paid 96 cents - Sold for $39.95 - Profit $36.18

My total profit so far on the older magazines is $351.46! I've sold 52 magazines so far!

Well, that's about it. Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

Friday's Yard Sales

My hubby and I went to yard sales this morning. It was hardly worth it! Maybe I just don't know what to look for but it just seems like they were mostly baby and kid stuff sales today! Plus for some reason I was feeling just really worn out! We started at around 8:45 and by 11:00 I was fizzled out! I went to a few more after that but I was dragging. Then I decided to go to the Good Will in that town and I did actually get a few things there. I found two different sets of hot rollers which seem to sell well for me. That means if I hurry up and get them listed that I will have 4 sets in my store! Found a couple of plush items and a mans shirt too. At the yard sales I found a few little baby toys for my grandson and a few odds and ends to sell that won't be worth a whole lot.

Here's the items that I've sold the past couple of days!

Lincoln Logs Over 600 Pieces
Paid $5.00 - Sold for $35.65 - Profit $24.91

I found these next 2 items last week when I went to visit my sister. So glad they sold already!

Vintage Vanity Mirror
Paid $1.50 - Sold for $16.50 - Profit $ 11.67

Wonderful Worlds of Walt Disney 4 Book Set
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $22.95  - Profit $17.35

And I sold another magazine! It seems that the hunting and fishing ones sell really well. Wish I had more of that kind. I've got a ton of farming magazines and I haven't sold one of those yet so we'll see what happens!
Fur-Fish-Game Magazine
Paid 12 cents - Sold for $9.50 - Profit $7.50

That's about it for today. I've got to head to the Post Office and get these packages out! Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

It Pays to Wait!!!

I listed this Boxcar Children book a week or so ago for $49.95 or best offer. My first offer was for $10 which I declined, then the same person offered $18, which I then countered with $39.95. Nothing happened. Then I received a different offer from someone for $27.00 which I countered with $42....nothing....! Anyway, this morning I woke up to a "cha-ching" and saw that I had sold it for my asking price of $49.95!!! It's on its way to Pennsylvania!

Vintage Boxcar Children Book
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $49.95 - Profit $38.64

Fisher Price Piggy Bank
Paid $2.99 - Sold for $12.00 - Profit $7.15

Outdoor Life Magazine
Paid 12 cents - Sold for $9.95 - Profit $7.88

2 Fur Fish Game Magazines
Paid 24 cents - Sold both for $18.90 - Profit $16.62

My total profit on my magazines is now up to $277.11. I have sold 39 magazines so far so that's an average profit of $7.10 each. I still must have about 270 to sell...and most of those I still have to list! If I end up selling all 310 that I bought and make the same average that means I will make a profit of around $2100! Of course that means I need to get busy listing them!

Latest Sales

Life gets so busy it's hard to keep this blog updated! My mom, daughter and I went to visit my sister Naomi for a couple of days last week so that was fun! Nice to get away! We went to a few yard sales when we were there and I found a few treasures to try to resell...a couple of vanity mirrors, a set of hot rollers, some baby Einstein books, etc.....I think I even have them all listed already!

Here's some of what I've sold since the first of the month:

These boots were in like new condition. I was thinking I could try to sell them for more but my 16 year old said they are just boots from Kohl's and that they really aren't worth that much so I just listed them for $25...they sold within a few hours! I think I probably could have gotten a litte bit more!

Ladies Mudd Motorcycle Boots
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $25.00 - Profit $18.69

A couple of weeks ago hubby and I were at a sale and the lady pointed out these good as new Red Wing work shoes that her husband never wore. My husband said he didn't need any anymore since he lost his factory job. Well I knew that they are expensive so I was debating about buying them. She had $9 on them so I finally said I would take them. Well then she wondered why I wanted to buy them since my husband said he didn't need them! So I told her I would probably try to sell them on eBay.....I could tell that bugged her! She asked me what I thought I would ask for them and I told her I really had no idea because I didn't have any idea! She said well you could probably get $25 for them.... I knew I could get more than that! I probably could have gotten more than I asked for but I wanted to sell them fast!

Mens Red Wing Work Shoes
Paid $9.00 - Sold for $59.95 - Profit $44.00

This next little package was a fun sale! I remember playing with these types of puzzles when I was a kid. These were 50 cents at a yard sale a few weeks ago. I looked up sold listings and saw that they were selling for between $20-$30. I am so used to listing "Buy it Now" that I forgot to watch what time I started this auction! I had started it around midnight! I wonder if I could have done better if I had ended it at a more reasonable hour! I'm happy with what I got though! They sold for $29.89!
