More Jars Coming....Hopefully!

My ad for more jars came out in our electricity companies newpaper the other day. I got a call this morning from a lady that says she has a bunch...at least 50 or more! I'm hoping it's MORE than that! I've been out of the quart size Perfect Mason jars for a few weeks except for the 3 that I sold yesterday. It's nice to be able to have listings of 10 or 20 of them because then I get a nice bigger chunk of money! I have to wait till Friday to go get them but I'm hoping that they are the quart size and the kind that most women want for their wedding vases!

I am also getting excited for yard sales to start around here soon. I've watched a few You Tube videos about what to look for so I'm getting antsy! This year will be different because I have a lot more reason to be looking for stuff to sell since my husband lost his job last fall and had to take a lower paying one. I will be looking for more things that will sell on EBay instead of just my Etsy shops. I'm looking forward to it!

What Do You Think?

There was actually a yard sale here today! Woo hoo! I found this neat old office stamp holder. I paid $7.50 for it. When I got home I looked on Ebay and didn't see one like this at all. All of the ones I saw are round carousel type holders. Have any of you out there seen one like this? It seems like the round ones go for around $20 to $30 or more. I was thinking I would like to get at least $30 for this if not $40....what do you think? Is there a technical name for it? I just searched under "vintage office stamp holder"....should I start it on auction at $30? Should I include the stamps or sell them separately? I think I could get at least $10 just for the stamps. Let me know what you think! Thanks so much!

Made My First Goal!

This week has been kinda slow. I sold this Coleman water jug Friday but am still waiting on the payment.
Gift to sell - Sold for $12.50

In my vintage shop I sold this cute little tin that holds 2 decks of playing cards. They have cute vintage images on them. I've had this forever and finally listed them the other night...they sold the same night!

Vintage Tin of Playing Cards
Paid 50 cents - Sold for $7.50 - Profit $6.53

I also sold these cute little vintage butter pat molds. I had these listed since last fall.

3 Vintage Butter Pat Molds
Gift from my sister Naomi to sell - Sold for $4.50 - Profit $3.61

My original goal for this month was to list 1 item a day....I figured I just might be able to do that! :) I did make that goal the other day so now I have upped it to 2 items a day average so we'll see how I do. I can't wait till yard sales start. I'm just down to mostly nickel and dime stuff to list so it's hard to even do it but I figure this stuff isn't doing any good not being listed so I might as well do it! I wish I had more of the Perfect Mason blue Ball quart jars.....completely out of them right now. I put an ad in our local electric company paper and that should be out in a few days so hopefully I will get some calls! Those jars seem to be my money maker! I'm excited to look at yard sales this year for stuff to sell on Ebay. Last summer I was mainly looking for my Etsy shops but since my husband lost his job I started focusing more on Ebay since you can sell about anything on there. Even now, his pay his waaay less than his previous job so I really need to kick it up a few notches and sell way more than I'm selling just to pay the bills! So hopefully I will find lots of good treasures that will bring in good money!

Since Last Time

Since last post I have only sold these 3 items:

Jeanette Oke Prairie Legacy Book Set
Gift from my daughter Autumn to sell - Sold for $19.95 w/fs - Profit $12.79

6 Scrabble Boards
Cost already figured in the tiles that I have sold - Sold for $12.00 - Profit $9.46

Taste of Home Cookbook
Not sure where this came from but it was in my cupboard! - Sold for $9.50 - Profit $6.69

A total profit of $28.94 which isn't very much but it came from stuff that was sitting around the house or was given to me! Also, I've still been trying to work on the taxes this week so I guess it's good I haven't had a ton of orders! Although, while working on the taxes I'm thinking I might need a ton of orders in case we have to pay! I'm pretty much done with my business part of the taxes and now I am working on my husbands. He has a lawn care business on the side and after starting on his portion I know we will have to pay State....I just hope we get enough back from Federal to pay what we will owe the State! Of course extra would be really nice too. I need to get them done in the next couple of days so I know where we stand.

Our grandbaby came home from the hospital yesterday good as new! I was so scared for him the first couple of days. He was really sick. Those doctors and nurses really know what they're doing!

It's so nice to see the weather improving! We have a birdfeeder out our dining room window and I just love watching the birds! My kids say I'm getting old if I'm bird watching! There just seems to be something restful and peaceful about it.....I think I could watch them for hours!....if I had time! I saw 3 robins on our hill so spring is coming, right? :)

Hey! I'm almost halfway to my goal for this month...lol! And it's not even halfway through the month! If I make my goal earlier maybe I will slowly add to it...:). One comment on my last post was from Linda and I think she really gave some good advice.... " I would only suggest that you double your income by listing twenty to thirty dollar items instead of ten dollar or less items. Same amount of work for twice the reward. :) That sounds like good advice! I'm hoping that this summer I can find things that are worth that much in a price range that I can afford! Right now I have quite a bit of stuff on hand to sell but most of it probably isn't worth $20-$30. There aren't any yard sales and haven't been since October. The only thrift store around here is Goodwill and even they are too high priced for me most of the time! So, I'm going to try to get most of the stuff I have listed before yard sale season starts so I can make room for more stuff! (seems like I'm always talking about stuff!)

So, anyway, it's been a busy week around here! We have our very first grandbaby! Our daughter-in-law had a pretty rough time and when he was born he wasn't breathing on his own. They got him stabilized and then sent him to the NICU 45 minutes away. He was pretty sick for the first couple of days but is doing much better now. He will probably come home later this week. He is so sweet! They took him off of the oxygen today. He still has a feeding tube in but will probably get rid of that tomorrow. He weighed 9 lbs. 12 oz. which I 'm sure was in his favor! He's a strong little man! I held him yesterday and he was lifting his head off my chest and doing all sorts of wiggling! It will be fun having a baby around again. My "baby" is 8 yrs. old already!
