    1. Hi Rhonda! It went better the second day. Still wasn't quite what we had built up in our mind! I will try to get a post up later today about it! Thanks! ~~Pam

  2. Yeah, we learned that we should never spend more than $1-$2 for an item to resell. There's just too much good stuff to buy. Most yardsales sell items for just 25-cents.

We do spend more money on items that we know will sell for a large profit. Using eBay's mobile app is essential when scavenging because it tells you what actually sells.

Where'd you find all those jars? You seem to have an endless supply. Seems to be your biggest seller.

    1. Yeah, I looked those shirts up on Ebay when I saw how much they were at Goodwill and thought that I should still be able to make a few bucks on them but I've had 2 of them that I bought and they didn't seem to want to sell so I lowered the price just to get rid of them. I probably should just be more patient!

Sometimes I find the jars at yard sales but for the last year or so I've advertised in a newspaper that our electric company puts out every month. It goes to several counties around us and it's free to advertise! I just say that I'm looking for old blue jars and will pay $1.00 each for them. Lots of people have them just sitting around their basements and garages and are willing to just have me come pick them up and they get a little to boot! Right now I have quite a few but sometimes I get low on them. Thanks for your comment! ~~Pam

    2. That's an extremely smart scavenger move.

  3. Pardon me but your arithmetic doesn't make sense to me - do you account for Paypal and eBay fees?

    1. Yes, I do! For instance, on the 5 jars that I sold for $30 I also charged $18.95 for shipping so the total was $48.95. Take off $5.00 for the cost of the jars, $1.72 Paypal fees, $1.25 Etsy fees, $1.50 for packing supplies (bubble wrap, wrapping paper and tape), and then the shipping was $15.22 and my profit was $24.26. I guess I should show my shipping charges and fees but I just want to give a quick idea of what I sell something for and then the profit. Thanks for your comment! ~~Pam
