Tuesday's Tally

Hello! Just posting an update....I've had quite a few sales the past few days! Been hearing the "cha-ching" 2 or 3 times a day which is good for me! It seems that this Garfield plush was ordered by an airport gift shop out in L.A.! It still had the tags on it. I'm thinking someone has a fun job of finding unique items to sell at the LAX airport! Anybody else ever have that happen?

Garfield Plush with Heart Picture Frame
Paid 88 cents - Sold for $10.00 - Profit $6.00

I thought these owls were the cutest thing! I looked up owl nesting dolls and there's lots on eBay...even made me think about collecting them!

Owl Nesting Dolls
Paid $1.00 - Sold for $9.95 - Profit - $7.43

Sold another magazine! My total profit on the old magazines is now up to $393.52! I just need to get more listed! (I think I say that every time, don't I?!)

34 Glass Buttons

On my last post I had someone tell me that it seems that I consistently underprice my items. They are probably right! I found this post from the Danni App blog interesting and it gave me something to think about! Gonna try to work on that! I just found her blog yesterday through Kimberly's blog. Looks like there's lots there to learn!

I always like reading others stats each week....here's mine for my eBay store and my 2 Etsy shops:

Active listings in all 3 places - 334
Cost of items sold - $41.23
# of sales - 22
Total Sales - $341.95
Total Profit after fees and cost of items - $247.63
New inventory - haven't spent anything!! Yard sales last week were few and frumpy!
Highest sale - 5 Blue Ball Half gallon jars - $50
International Sales - 2
Feedback - all good!

I'm always jealous when I see other peoples numbers but this has been a pretty good week for me! Better than working 40 hours outside of the house for minimum wage!

Have a great day! ~~Pam

  1. Well, I'm jealous of YOUR sales Pam!! I have made only 3 sales since Sunday for a whopping profit of $21.30. I've only had 3 views on my Etsy store today. I'm starting to get very depressed. A lot of my Lego lots ended without a sale. I've got to relist them all later. I've got some things I have to get listed today. Maybe that will jumpstart my sales.

    1. Lorraine...that total is for 7 days..just wanted to make sure you knew. It seems like I've had a really good week but it definitely isn't always like that...wish it was! I'd like/need to make a profit of at least $500/week! I've listed some buttons in my Etsy shop last night and today and haven't had hardly any views yet. In my experience, it seems that Etsy is slow. I list stuff and a few days later it will still say "O" views. I know I don't list regularly though so I suppose that's why. I'm sure your sales will pick up. I've heard that July is a slow month. ~~Pam

  2. I agree that you underprice your items. Those wooden puzzles are AMAZING and I think you could have gotten $20/each for a couple of them (I recently sold a wooden puzzle for that) - it might take a little longer though. your items are always really unique, you obviously have a good eye, don't underestimate that!

    2. I've sold those nesting owls for $19.99 last year and mine was missing the small one. Definitely research sold listings and don't leave money on the table. You are only hurting yourself and other sellers :-)

    3. I disagree that Pam is "hurting" anyone. We've all been there - it's a learning process. When I did craft shows other vendors used to tell me what I should sell my things for. I listened in an effort to learn but in the end, it was my business and had nothing whatsoever to do with them and I priced as I saw fit. I listened to my market and time and time again I sold for a profit while they sat with inventory.

  3. Wow, I'm really impressed by your week! You've taken great photos and found some some really interesting items, so I'm not surprised at how successful you've been. Great work!

  5. I still (personally) can't get past that principle that if I use a "best offer", I'm telling my customers that I'm not serious about my price in the first place. I can't bring myself to do it. I have used it once and so far have had NO offers. The principle of the thing really bothers me.

    1. Kay, I can see what you mean but then again I think some people like to haggle so it might attract them when you have a best offer option. Probably the more items you have to list that way the more chance you have of getting offers. I offer "best offer" on some of my llstings but not all. Thanks for your comment! ~~Pam

  6. I love the Best Offer option. Probably 75% of what I sell is a Best Offer. I just price my stuff higher than most, and then I have lots of room to deal. But I do love it when they ignore that Best Offer button and pay full price :)

  7. Thanks Lisa! Yes, I have used Best Offer lots of times. I have sold some things using it too! ~~Pam
