A Few More Sales

Hello Everyone! Just a few more sales a couple of days ago. Last Friday I bought 2 Coleman camping cook stoves for 5 bucks each. I got home and looked them up and figured I wouldn't make a ton on them. I listed this one as "buy it now" for $19.95. I don't have room to store stuff forever and I need money quickly! :) Someone bought it within a few hours. I'm going to list the other one tonight. I hope it sells as quickly!
Coleman 2 Burner Propane Cook Stove
Paid $5.00 - Sold for $19.95 - Profit $13.31

A few years ago I thought I would sell scrapbooking and cardmaking supplies on Etsy. There is a dollar store in a town not too far from here that always has quite a bit of those kinds of supplies for a dollar each. I bought quite a bit and did sell some stuff but it just wasn't worth the hassle so I'm not selling on there right at the moment. Anyway, I still have quite a bit of stuff so I listed these 10 new sets of acrylic stamps for $25.00 I paid $10 for them. They probably sell in a store for $8-$10 each but I suppose they are out of date. It took them awhile but they finally sold.

10 New Acrylic Stamp Sets
Paid $10.00 - Sold for $25.00 - Profit $10.99

Last Friday I bought 80 old 8 track tapes from a guy for 10 cents each! Sold both of these lots within an hour of each other the other night. Sill have some left to sell but I did get them listed!

25 Soft Rock 8 Track Tapes
Paid $2.50 - Sold for $17.95 - Profit $12.35

24 Rock 8 Track Tapes
Paid $2.40 - Sold for $24.00 - Profit $17.54

That's about it for now. I did get 3 new orders so far today but I need to get them packaged up yet. Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

  1. I'm always hesitant to pick up 8 track tapes. Here in the south it's so hot and humid and I never know where people have stored their stuff, so I worry about mold and mildew, and disintegration of things like tapes. Did you put in the listing that you didn't know if they still played or not?

    1. No, I didn't, and I should have but I guess I didn't think about it! I should have said they weren't tested....hopefully they will by okay....yikes! ~~Pam

  2. Great that you got quick sales but I think you consistently under price your items. You should automatically add at least $5-10 to everything you sell (save for the mason jars which you seem to do extraordinarily well on). And if the items don't sell at the higher price you could always lower your prices. Sometimes consumers gravitate towards seeing something that has a 10-25% sale tag on it, which you can do in your ebay store. Just a thought and an easy way to increase your income and potentially with no added time to how long your inventory sits around.

    1. Thanks for your comment! I probably do under price my items sometimes. I guess it just depends if its something that I have room to store too. Do you mean I should add $5-$10 more than what I already do add? Because I usually add a lot more than that to my original purchase price. Like the Coleman stove...it was $5 and I added almost $15 to it or 4 times what it cost. The tapes I marked up way more than what I paid! I guess my pricing depends on what I research on eBay, how much room I have to store it, and then how fast we need the money...which is usually pretty fast! Thanks again for your comment...I will try to start pricing a little toward the higher price that things are going for on eBay and see what happens! ~~Pam

  3. Pam-I think you're short changing yourself on the stoves. If you put them up for auction you should do even better. ($40 -$75) Just make sure you charge enough for shipping.

    1. Dude....I probably am shortchanging myself on them. I guess I'm just scared they won't sell at a higher price or I will have them sitting around here forever and we don't really have much more room! I do make sure I get the shipping right though! Thanks for your comment! ~~Pam

    2. I hear ya. Coleman Stoves are an eBay winner, though. And the older, the better as long as the condition is decent. The original box helps too.

      Happy hunting....Dude!

    1. Thanks Rhonda! Yeah, these were cheap enough that I figured I'd have to make some money on them! I s'pose it depends how much the thrift store is asking for them if they'd be a good deal or not. Thanks for your comment! ~~Pam
