It's Embarrassing.....

Why do I set these crazy goals for myself and then don't even come close to making them? My goal at the beginning of the month was to list 140 things, or 5 items a day. I thought that seemed do-able. Obviously if you look at my counter on the right you will see that it's not! Of course that doesn't take into consideration all of the stuff that happens in my everyday life. Life is busy! Life is crazy! If I have a day that I happen to sell more stuff, then I have to take the time to get the stuff packaged up and sent out...then there seems to be no time to list stuff! I've also been trying to work on our taxes this month....hoping to get them done in the next few days...they are taking longer than I figured. I hope we get a refund! Also, since we homeschool, I have to keep track of all of that and I'm behind on that too....so it's all swirling around in my head and driving me crazy! So there you have it....my excuses for not reaching my listing goal! Of course if I was super-organized and also felt better than I do I no doubt could have made the goal..........maybe I'll shoot for listing one item a day for March? :)

Yesterday morning I woke up and checked my phone and it said I had sold 2 things on eBay! Yeah! So I went to my eBay store and it showed several things that were paid for and I kept scrolling down and wow!.....someone had bought 13 things from my store!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I've never had that happen on eBay before! The total came to $122.85 not counting shipping! It sure came at a good time! Lots of bills due this week! I could use a few more orders like that! Here's what sold in case you're interested:

I made $92.50 clear on all of these things after the cost of the items, fees and packing supplies! I more or less gift wrapped each set of items like the 3 mens shirts together, the books, the Avon....etc...and put them all in a big box that I wrapped with brown kraft paper that has a white floral design on it. I figure it will be more fun for them to open the big box and have lots of little "gifts" to open! I hope they like everything!

It's crazy.....I bought lots of vintage Avon last summer for 10 cents each and slowly but surely I've been selling it....very slowly....but yesterday I sold those 3 bottles with that big order and then I sold these too!
Avon Eiffel Tower
Paid 10 cents - Sold for $7.50 - Profit $7.31
This went to London!

Avon Calling Decanter

Avon Buffalo Nickel
Paid 10 cents - Sold for $5.00 - Profit on this and the piano was $10.53
These went to Canada!

So I think I've sold 13 Avon decanters so far and I have 16 left in my store. Still, I have made a little bit of profit on them!

I also sold 4 sets of buttons in my button shop for a profit of $14.61. So, it's been a busy week! What I'd like to know is how do people that really sell a lot of stuff every week then have time to list more stuff? Seems like packing up lots of orders would take so much time that then it would be hard to find the time to list. I guess most people don't still have 5 kids at home so that might make a difference.....;).

Well, I need to get to bed. Thanks for stopping by! ~~Pam

  1. Embarrassing? Are you kidding me? All those sales, plus your a mom with 5 kids AND you home school AND I'm sure you're also the cook, cleaner, laundress, bill payer and you said your were the tax preparer too. Surely you have a cape somewhere with an "S" on it. Don't be so hard on yourself. You're awesome! :-)

  2. I agree with the above comment! Don't get down on yourself! I don't make goals, because life always interrupts and I am disappointed. Best to do what you can when you can! You are doing great!

  4. Ditto, ditto, ditto! Lorraine said everything I was thinking.

I like to make listing goals, but meeting them is generally the exception for me, rather than the rule. And I only have 2 kids, and don't homeschool. I have no idea how you accomplish all you do. And you had some great sales too!

  5. I agree with everyone else too! You had an awesome sales week plus everything else you do so take it a bit easier on yourself. I don't even have kids & I never get listed as many items as I want to. That was great 1 person bought 13 of your items, how cool is that!!

  8. That is amazing! 13 items is great. And you are doing very well to list at all with five children home! I would only suggest that you double your income by listing twenty to thirty dollar items instead of ten dollar or less items. Same amount of work for twice the reward. :)
