Tuesday's Tally

I got these orders ready to ship out today! A few weeks ago I found this old sewing machine for $2.00! I figured I couldn't go wrong on that! Some of these sell for more towards a hundred dollars but this one is a bit worn...the design is worn off in places and such. I just wanted to sell it quickly as I don't have a lot of storage space. I'm happy with what I made and I only had it listed for a few days!

I love these old wooden spools....maybe someday I will keep some for myself!

119 Wooden Spools
Paid $2.00 - Sold for $25.00 - Profit $21.60

Several months ago I found 2 Greg Norman golf shirts at Goodwill for $9.38 each....this was when I was first really trying to find stuff to sell on eBay....anyway, at the time I thought if Goodwill charges that much for them then they must be worth something! I bought them both! Yikes! I started them out high but they never sold. I've gradually lowered them over the months and this one  finally sold yesterday. I made a whopping 65 cents on it! At least I got my money back also! I might just change the other one to $15.00 and wait it out! And believe me...I won't pay that much for a shirt again...unless it's maybe  one of these that Meinard talks about!

  1. There is a guy on one of the ebay facebook groups named Chip Meyer. He's done some youtube videos on golf shirts- what to buy and what to avoid. I learned a lot about golf shirts from those videos.

    2. I watched that guy's videos and he did have a lot of info. I think Greg Norman was a middle of the road brand unless it had a golf logo on it. I went through the golf shirt thing a while back and I'm over it now. I'm stuck with a lot of duds.

  2. Wow, you did great on that lovely sewing machine! I read on one of your recent posts you're thinking of stopping with Etsy and selling all on eBay. I'm considering the same thing. My Etsy attempt flopped :( Good luck to you in whatever you decide!

    1. Thanks Dawn! I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about Etsy...I've been on there for 7 years! Started selling handmade greeting cards in 2007, then opened my button shop, then a supply shop and my vintage shop I opened in 2009. I only have the vintage and button shop opened right now. The jars sell really well for me on Etsy....I just need to find more jars! ~~Pam

  4. I love those wooden spools and you got them for a steal. I use mine for crafting, but keep them in a bowl kinda like a fish bowl and just love looking at them.

    Sweet seeing machine!
