Hello everyone! I always find it hard to think of a catchy title for my blog posts and I'm usually in a hurry so don't have much time to come up with something unique! Anyway, I can't believe it's already been over a month since I posted. I'm always thinking I'm going to try to update at least a couple of times a week and it just doesn't seem to happen! Life is busy! My third son is getting married in a few weeks and we went to a couples shower for him and his bride to be this past weekend. It was fun! So yeah, lots of busy-ness in the days ahead too!
I saw this crockpot at Goodwill a few weeks before the Super Bowl and figured it would sell for sure and it did! I hated to pay $6.88 for it but figured I could make at least $20 profit.

I'd been saving my used ink cartridges for a little over a year and finally listed them. I had started them at $85 for a couple of weeks because I had seen that some people were getting around $2.50 each for theirs. Then I had a 10% off sale which took them down to about $75. I got an offer of $50. We needed the money but I wasn't going to go that low. I countered it with $60 plus I threw in 2 more cartridges that I had already used since listing and they accepted that. Not too shabby for something that most people throw away or recycle!

I've been finding some shower curtain hooks lately. It's surprising to me that people are looking for them on eBay! I guess I've always been the type to just buy the cheap less expensive ones at Wal-Mart or the Dollar store! Anyway, I thought these were really cute!

These definitely aren't huge money makers but they're quick and easy to mail out and I figure like my blog name says....a nickel here, a dime there.......it all helps out!
This next item I'm holding my breath on.....I mailed it out using the "jelly roll" method....I've used it before and things went okay but I get nervous when I do it! This mug was going to California (from Iowa) so it has an extra long way to go! When I got this ready I thought I'm going to just start mailing mugs in boxes because I'm afraid the customer will just think it doesn't look very professional to send it the way I did! Do any of you use the jelly roll method and mail it in a priority padded envelope? I have to say that mine didn't look as neat as the guys in the linked video looked! The person should get it today so I'll let you know how it turns out!

I don't know if I've ever mentioned it on here before or not but I love to make cards. In fact, that's the first Etsy shop that I opened in 2007....my Cardcrazy Card shop! Since then though, I've opened my button shop, my vintage shop and then started selling on eBay a couple of years ago. Who has time to make cards now? :) I haven't had any cards in my card shop for a few years now. My last sold card was 4 years ago! So anyway, I'm terrible about getting thank you cards made or any card for that matter. I always have good intentions but then life gets in the way. I have all of this card-making stuff and I just hate to go buy cards when I could make them! But then I don't make them! So this past week I sat down and made a few with an idea I had seen somewhere. I downloaded this printable green stem picture which I don't even remember where I got it from and then added some buttons from my thousands of buttons stash! They are simple but cute! It took me a little over an hour to make the 4 cards. It would have been quicker but I took the time to actually sew the buttons on instead of just gluing them down. I mailed one to my mom, 2 of my sisters and my future daughter-in-law. I need to figure out a way to carve out some time each week to enjoy this hobby again.
